We’ve added a bunch of new tablets to our QA labs; mostly Android, but we also picked up a brand-new iPad as well (one of the recently-released 2018 models that are intended to compete with Chromebooks in the education market, primarily).
In addition to our other devices, we now have the following available for testing:
- (the aforementioned) 2018 iPad running iOS 11
- Asus ZenPad 8 running Android 7
- Huawei MediaPad M3 running Android 6
- Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 running Android 6
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 running Android 7
We were a little surprised that none of the Android devices were shipping with Android 8, although a couple may be able to take the OTA update; regardless, we’ll be leaving them running their factory OS versions for the time being.
To shed some light on the devices available for testing, here are their specifications:
iPad (2018):
- 9.7″ Retina display, powerful A10 chip
- 32GB/128GB storage, 8MP rear camera
- Up to 10 hours battery, iOS 11 (upgradeable)
Asus ZenPad 8:
- 8″ HD display, 16/32GB storage (expandable)
- Quad-core processor, 5MP rear camera
- Up to 8 hours battery, Android 7
Huawei MediaPad M3:
